Speeding toward the sunset
Music drowning out the day
Driving too fast from the past
Drowning out all sounds on play

Pictures flash across the sky
Of memories stuck on replay
Tastes and smells yet lingering
On skin the sun is burning away

A new song hits my ears now
And the memory is on its way
There’s no speed fast enough
To keep me from yesterday.
