A Sincere Inveigler

His promises fall as sweat
upon the locks of his lover
Oaths and devotions hung
in eyes that watch, see and hover
upon this night's bride.

He paints with his intent
a future, a life, spent together,
every word is true tonight
but change the night, the day,
all is forgot in his fickle mind.

Beware the sweet, the charming man
who sincerely believes you God's gift
for who believes and entices
without reason, trust he insists
his way is the accidental breaking of beauty.
